Consequences - The Employment Rights Act

With the advent of the Employment Rights Act, which we will gradually see implemented during the course of 2026, it is inevitable that various procedures, policies and processes are reviewed to protect client businesses. Nonetheless, it is equally important to consider what actions can be taken in relation to the soft side of HR - recruitment, coaching, leadership development and the like.

This is a good moment to review your recruitment processes and put in place mechanisms which 'reduce the gamble’. This means making sure your assessment processes are appropriate and that you recruit not just those who can do the job but those who are the right fit. We thoroughly recommend a Jungian-based psychometric tool for this purpose. If you are wisely reviewing your recruitment processes in view of the 6-monthly claim rights for unfair dismissal, then this is a moment to put in place some extra mechanisms to reduce the gamble.
