With the advent of the Employment Rights Act, it’s worth looking widely at parental leave. Did you know that there is an Equal Parenting Week from 27th April to 3rd May? Further investigation reveals that the paternity leave both in terms of time off, and money, in the UK does not compare favourably with many other European countries, where both the time off and the pay is considerably higher.

This is a very good time to review your parental leave policies with the advent of the Employment Rights Act, but also because, the whole issue of shared parental leave shifts the basis of equality and sharing within the home environment which, in turn, affects treatment of individuals equally within the workplace, not to mention the physical and mental health and growth of our offspring.
