Help! April 2026 employment law changes

The Employment Rights Act is moving into its next stages like a juggernaut and cannot be avoided. We have started client care checks on a pro bono basis and wonder whether you would like to meet to pre-empt any challenges the Act will bring. There are changes taking effect in April 2026, including reforms to Statutory Sick Pay, Paternity Leave and Unpaid Parental Leave, whistleblowing protection for sexual-harassment disclosures, and increased protective awards in collective redundancy cases. Additionally, the Fair Work Agency is due to be established from 7 April 2026, with a wider enforcement role being phased in over time, including in relation to holiday pay and Statutory Sick Pay. Employers may face penalties or other enforcement action for breaches.

This is a very good moment to prevent unnecessary stress by taking action. Contact us for support here.
